Video of the Week: Communication Supports for Problem Behavior with Dr. Pat Mirenda
Last month, it was such a great honor to host Dr. Pat Mirenda at the UM-NSU Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD). As some of you know, she was the presenter at our annual Issues in Autism Conference, and also was kind enough to record a shorter version of the presentation for the CARD eLearning site, CARD VINE.
You can view that presentation below, and get the handout for it here.

Thanks for introducing the work of Pat Mirenda. As a psychoanalyst who works with kids with autism, it’s great for me to know about her work.
As a parent with a non-verbal child who has very minor behavior issues, this presentation by Pat Mirenda was very informative and useful. I would be very interested in how we can implement/create the interventions needed for my son. We’ve had an FBA and now we need to create appropriate interventions. I would love to know if there will be a followup on this as to what professionals need to be involved to help the school. Again, fabulous presentation.
