Five Ways to Store Picture Symbols
A- A+

We had a real chuckle when this photo came across our Twitterfeed (@PrAACticalAAC-Robin, @CommGreenhouse-Carole). The discussion that followed led us to think about our favorite ways of storing those little gems.

  1. Slide protectors and sports card protectors
  2. Hanging jewelry organizers
  3. Tackle and utility boxes
  4. Craft boxes for beads
  5. Tabbed coupon wallets

Do you have a favorite way of storing the icons and picture symbols that you use in your therapy? We’d love to know about it.

I used a ring binder with file dividers covered in fabric that was velcro compatible. A bit like a pecs folder. So I could see them easily and pull them our quickly.

That makes a lot of sense for those situations where you need to grab a symbol quickly. Thanks for sharing that idea, Cha!!

I love to share the Success Box Organizational Storage System with parents and professionals – the only storage system specifically designed for picture cards and visual supports. This system allows you to visually scan all your cards in a glance, securely store them in individualized tab-bags that allow up to 5 x 8″ sized cards, and divide and organize your cards according to your needs. There’s even a handy companion travel binder for quick trips or small groups – ready to use anywhere you go! Created by an LBS I/ABA therapist and assembled by autistic adults, providing meaningful employment, the Success Box is affordable and practical! Please visit at http://www.thesuccessbox.com!
