Video of the Week: Using Google Action Blocks to Support Communication

A few months back, we invited Charlie Danger, an OT/ATP from The Children’s Trust, to introduce us to Google Action Blocks. (You can see that post here.) Today, we turn to an archived webinar from CALL Scotland at the University of Edinburgh to learn more about this and see Google Action Blocks in AACtion. This free resource is incredibly flexible and can support communication and independence for people with disabilities. Many thanks to Charlie and The Children’s Trust for making and sharing this helpful video. Direct Link to Video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_-1rpQLjM8&ab_channel=callscotland1983

PráctiCAAmente Conectados Con Links – Octubre 2021

October is AAC Awareness Month, and sharing resources for AAC learning in Spanish is a wonderful way to kick things off. On the first Friday of every month, we feature a Spanish version of our AAC Link Up, CAA con Links. If you have AAC-related announcements, materials, or videos in Spanish that you would like others to know about, we’d love to have you add that information below. Also, please share this with anyone who might be interested in contributing to or using the materials that get added to these posts. Organized by Claudia Marimón, these posts also feature AAC work being done in Spanish-speaking countries. Today, Claudia shares a bit about the group that she runs called ‘International Friends.’ The post appears in both English and Spanish so that everyone can hear about the work they do. Enjoy! ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Comienza octubre el mes de visibilidad y concienciación de la CAA.... [Read More...]

PráctiCAAmente Conectados Con Links – Julio 2021

AAC friends, if you’re interested in AAC materials in Spanish, please check out the content in this list and feel free to add your own. In addition to these resources, you may also enjoy learning about the work of Wendy Moreno, a parent of an AAC user in Mexico. [Read More...]

Video of the Week: Tech Tools for Supporting AAC Team Collaboration

Ask any AAC stakeholder about the collaborative teaming and they’re likely to tell you two things: how incredibly valuable it is and how little time they have for it. In today’s video, we’re highlighting a session from a past AAC in the Cloud Conference featuring AAC SLPs Chris Bugaj and Rachel Madel. In this post, they share some of their favorite ways of using technology to make collaboration faster and easier.  Enjoy!
