Video of the Week – Effective Coaching of AAC Partners
How can we help communication partners use more facilitative strategies during AAC interactions? AT Specialist and SLP Chris Bugaj helps us better understand how we can use practice and coaching to support the growth of communication partners.
Many thanks to Chris and New Jersey’s Assistive Technology Advocacy Center (ATAC) for creating this content and making it available to AAC stakeholders throughout the world.

I’d like to give a shout out to Jill Senner and Matt Baud as well. Our school district hired them to come out and share with us how they are working through the 8 Step Model to teach SMoRRES and how they too are working on coaching! I didn’t say it explicitly in this quick 30 minute video but I should have. Also, a big shout out to the team of coaches with whom I work who are actually implementing these strategies using job-embedded coaching. Thanks team!
Thanks for doing this, I found it really useful as I’m trying to develop ways of supporting and developing communication partners at the moment – it gave me a lot to think about!
